Bee Club Membership

We are an active and friendly club with many members who join from around North Lancashire and increasingly around the UK.

Local members get to meet, train, enjoy our events, and join our beekeepers insurance scheme. We are especially popular with beekeepers and people who want to learn how to keep bees in Lancaster, Morecambe, Carnforth, out towards Bowland and Silverdale and indeed from Kendal to Preston.

Anyone over the age of 10 years, including non-beekeepers, who is interested in our work, is welcome to become a member of Lune Valley Beekeepers. However, as part of our safeguarding policy, members under the age of 16 years will need to be accompanied at meetings by a responsible adult.

Becoming a member entitles you to:

  • attend all closed courses, workshops and other meetings and attend open courses at a reduced fee.
  • visit the Club apiary and wildflower meadow throughout the season.
  • receive the Club’s monthly newsletter.
  • participate in the Club’s public liability scheme.

Our membership year runs from 1st March to 28th February.

Public Liability Insurance

We strongly advise anyone who keeps bees or handles other people’s bees, to take out public liability insurance. We operate a Club Public Liability insurance scheme for those members who wish to take advantage of it.

The membership subscription for 2023-2024 is £15
The premium for joining the public liability scheme for 2023-2024 is £17
